Year 9 student Erin Matthews entered the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod yesterday.

Erin was one of hundreds of applications from around the world to sign at the world famous, and the singers were dwindled down to 19 singers in a preliminary round.

She made it through to the final 4 performers, meaning she sang on the main arena stage in front of a packed audience.

Erin performed ‘Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again’ from Phantom of the Opera, singing beautifully and confidently, and placed second over all in the competition.

One of the adjudicators approached Erin at the end of the competition to congratulate her outstanding performance, you can watch her performance here

Erin was supported in her performance by one of our College Peripatetic teachers, Mr Smith, who has been a part of the our community for 45 years.
