On Monday 19 June, several of our students from both the Senior and Junior Schools competed at the ISA Athletics Championships at the Birmingham Alexander Stadium, recent home of the Commonwealth Games. The students were representing the North of England at the national championships after qualifying at the regional events in May.
For our younger athletes, Ollie came 4th place in the Cricket Ball Throw.
Tristan managed two medals, a silver in the 60m sprint followed by a gold medal in the 4 x 100m relay.
In a photo finish, Max managed a silver in the 4 x 100m relay and Amber, who competed in the 600m race and the 4 x 100m relay ran an incredible 3rd leg to help her team come from behind and take 1st Place.
Year 7 students Jack won bronze with Tess came fourth in hurdles.
Skye went one better with excellent technique to run a fantastic bend, winning Gold as part of the Year 7 relay team.
Seb in Year 9 showed great potential in High Jump clearing 1.60m to finish with a bronze medal too.
Overall, our pupils were an absolute credit to the College and an integral part of the North Region’s success at the National Championships.
Well done to all who competed, we are very proud of your efforts on the day.
