Infant and Junior School Pupils Sow a Wildflower Meadow
Published on 5th May 2023
Pupils at our Infant and Junior School have worked together to sow a wildflower meadow at the bottom of the school playing fields.
This was a suggestion from one of the members of the pupil led Sustainability Committee, and something that is a lovely nod to King Charles’ Coronation as he has spoken of his wish that many more areas of wildflowers are planted across Great Britain.
Particular thanks must go to Miss Parry (Infant 2 Teacher) and Mrs Hughes (Infant 1 teacher) for their efforts with the Sustainability Committee at IJS, Mr Frodsham (College Head Gardener) and his team for preparing the area for planting and to Mr Horsefield (Design and Technology Technician) for making a beautiful plaque for our special part of the grounds.
