On Monday afternoon, the Church of St John the Baptist in Aldford was ringing with the sounds of our Infant and Junior School pupils voices as they came together with their families in celebration of the Harvest Festival in song, reading and poetry.
Pupils from our Year 6 class read beautifully, the Infant pupils gave a wonderful performance of the School favourite ‘Big, Red Combine Harvester’, with their actions to all the verses down pat.
Our Sixth Form Heads of Service, Christina and Max spoke about the importance of Harvest and supporting local people through FoodBank donations.
The choir, Just Sing!, performed ‘Harvest Song’ with real passion, and then the main event – the whole congregation sang the ‘Harvest Samba’ – quite something if you’ve not experienced it!
The sizeable pile of food donations from our College Community have been welcomed by the West Cheshire Food Bank at a time when demand outweighs availability, so a heartfelt thanks.
