Published on 8th December 2022
On Saturday 3rd December, six of our talented swimmers competed at the Olympic pool in London representing the North at the ISA national finals.
Henry – Year 6
Charlotte – Year 8
Sam – Year 10
Jack – Year 10
Katy – Year 12
George – Year 13
Dr Leatherbarrow, who accompanied the pupils to the competition, said of the event:
‘All six pupils were outstanding and represented Abbey Gate College and the North team with enthusiasm and excitement.
Their team-spirit and support of one another was evident to all. I was very proud to be on poolside with them.
I am very pleased to say that 5 of our swimmers walked away from the gala with medals. A truly impressive achievement.
Henry – silver in the 50m freestyle, Charlotte – bronze in the 50m breaststroke, Jack – bronze in the 100m backstroke, Katy – bronze in the 100m freestyle and George – bronze in the 100m freestyle and 200m medley relay.’
Congratulations to all the swimmers!
