On 11 January we were delighted to host the Chester Classical Association at the College.
Daniel Sykes, a third year undergraduate studying Archaeology at the University of York, gave a fascinating talk drawing comparisons between ancient and modern comic book heroes and discussing what exactly defined a hero.
The talk was attended by students from all Senior School year groups and both Daniel and the Chair of the association, Isabel, were impressed by some of the knowledge of mythology that certain students demonstrated in the Q&A session which followed.
There is clearly an appetite for Classics here at our College and we look forward to welcoming the Chester branch back as often as they can come, to share their passion and broaden our students’ exposure to this fascinating world.
