Abbey Gate College students are celebrating their individual successes at A level, with 100% pass rate for the year group as a whole.
The Head, Mr Jenkinson, said: “My colleagues and I are delighted with all that our Year 13 students have achieved. So many of these individual results are well above national predictions, reflective of each student’s personal hard work and determination, as well as the support and guidance from our tremendous staff team in the College. We are also really pleased that a majority of our students chose to push themselves academically with the Extended Project Qualification, additional to their other A levels, with 64% achieving A* or A.”
All students deserve fulsome commendation for their results, with most heading off to their first choice of university destinations, or starting apprenticeships. More popular courses this year include computing as well as business-related studies, and the sense of service and purposeful contribution to our wider society is evident throughout.
The Governors’ award for most outstanding A level results was given to Joshua (A*A*A*A*) who will go on to study Natural Sciences.
Each of our year groups at College is different in their passions and abilities, and this national cohort in particular have had to find incredible perseverance and resilience, in order to make the best of the many challenges they have faced throughout their senior school education as a result of the pandemic. We wish them all well.
