Last Friday 8 March, our Music scholar’s group, ‘Quod Aliquis’ led over 100 primary school children in a ‘come and sing’ event at Chester Cathedral.
Designed to give the pupils both an experience of Music within a Cathedral setting, as well as a fascinating tour and workshop within one of the oldest buildings in Cheshire, the choristers came together to perform Rutter’s For the beauty of the Earth.
Our staff and some 6th form students have been busy supporting 5 local primary schools in music sessions once a week since the start of the September term, and have worked with the primary pupils in teaching them the music that they were to perform, as well as the fundamentals of reading music and vocal coaching to bring out their best sound.
It was a very well attended event, with many families coming along to support their children as they had such a special experience.
