Last Friday the children across the whole of our Infant and Junior School were treated to a picnic to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Dressed in red, white and blue, the children completed lots of different themed activities throughout the day, helped along by our lovely PTFA – the activities included biscuit decorating, games and of course, a rousing rendition of the National Anthem!
The picnic took place in the beautiful grounds of our I & J School in Aldford, and luckily the weather understood how to behave, while it was a little chilly, the sun shone down as the children sat in mixed age groups on mats or at picnic tables.
Our new catering company Chartwells Independent provided a lavish picnic, including some very freshly made yummy and zingy lemonade to make a toast to Her Majesty, sandwiches, sausage rolls, coronation chicken goujons, salads and fruit.
There were jelly and cupcakes for dessert, and the centrepiece was a magnificent Union Jack cake, decorated with lots of fresh berries!
The Infant children have also worked collaboratively to create a beautiful card that they have sent to Buckingham Palace.
The children had a lovely time together celebrating the Jubilee, we just hope the Queen has as much fun!
