6th Form pupil Mollie Pickering recently took part in the Cheshire Young Farmers Federation debating competition, one of six who represented Nantwich Young Farmers team. Their team of six ranged in age from the youngest at 16 (Mollie) to their oldest member who was 30. The debate operated under Oxford Union Rules.
The Nantwich team worked through the first two rounds, the semi final and went on to win the final debate of the evening.
In addition to success as part of the team, Mollie was announced as the Best Debater of the evening, quite an achievement when many of the other teams’ participants were at least ten years older and have been competing for a long time! As a result, Mollie has been given the opportunity to attend the National Farmers Union conference in London next February.
Well done, Mollie!
