Abbey Gate College has an active Parents’ and Teachers’ Association (PTA). It is an integral part of the school community. The Association provides an excellent social network and helps raise funds for the benefit of all students and the College’s chosen House Charity.
The PTA is not just about fundraising; it is an excellent way to feel part of the College community whether your child/children are at the Infant & Junior School or the Senior School. It’s a great platform to meet other parents especially if you’re new to the area or the College, and an opportunity to catch up with friends all with a common goal of supporting and enhancing school life for our children.
The PTA supports the school with events such as Open Day, Induction Day, Sports Day and Parents Evenings, as well as arranging social functions and activities for students, parents and staff, such as coffee mornings, social evenings, wine tasting events and the College Ball.
If you would like to become involved in the committee, become a co-opted member or just help out occasionally, please express your interest by emailing PTFA@abbeygatecollege.co.uk. Alternatively there’s an ongoing invitation over the course of the year to attend full committee meetings and the Senior School and Infant & Junior sub-committee meetings. Full details of PTA dates and events can be found by logging onto the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) search – General School – PTA.
The Committee welcomes new members, with the only requirement being some of your time and lots of enthusiasm!
