Rugby Match Report: Bury Grammar School v Abbey Gate College

With the U18 Rugby team having a good run out ahead of the ISA National 7s, the U13 rugby team produced a well rounded display to emerge victorious against what proved to be very physical opposition.

Abbey Gate started brightly and piled the pressure on thanks to some excellent work by the visiting forwards who were able to secure an abundance of possession. This was ably distributed and used to great effect. Despite the foul conditions, Abbey Gate moved the ball around as if it was a mid summer's evening, resulting in a number of tries being scored by our wingers.

There were too many standout performances to mention, however the boys' commitment to training should not go unnoticed as they were able to use the skills they have been developing to great success.

Another challenge lies ahead of the boys this Saturday as they travel to Scarisbrick Hall, looking to avenge the home defeat they suffered earlier in the season.
