It has been a week since the high excitement surrounding the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Westminster took place at Chester Cathedral.

Nine of our students, from the Junior School right up to the Upper Sixth, were part of that amazing service, as Cathedral Choristers.

We wanted to give these students some time to reflect on their experience, as we can only imagine their excitement and pressure in equal measure, on such an important and publicised occasion.

Year 10 student, Will SW spoke of his involvement; “As a Leading Chorister, I had to ensure that the younger boys knew what they were doing, so I did feel the pressure was on. It was an amazing experience, especially to sing with an orchestra!”

Oliver L, in Year 8, said “Being there was an incredible experience for me!”

Our College has had a long association with the Chester Cathedral Choir, including the current Organist and Master of the Choristers, Philip Rushforth, who is an alumnus of Abbey Gate College.
