Match Report: AGC v Oldham Hulme

Y10 Football - Goals from Harvey Solomon, Max Jones, Liam Drew and Oscar Jackson ensured that the College made a really positive start to their season. The squad of 12 who travelled to Oldham on a very wet Saturday morning, played some really good football and everyone made positive contributions in what was a good display of football that was full of accurate passing and intelligent movement off the ball.  The back five that consisted of Ciaran Paterson, Marcus Bertram, Max Ridings, Callum Potter and Zak Packer were a solid unit throughout the game and the rest of the team: James Lanni, Hugo Cook and Tristan Weetch, all contributed to what was a well-earned and well-deserved victory.

Final Score: AGC 5   Oldham Hulme 0

Y9 Football - It didn't take long for the team to realise that Oldham Hulme had improved from their last meeting. 1-0 up at half time, the players felt good and enjoyed the fact that they were in a match and needed to focus. Joe Bowden was a consistent threat down the right and Jack Scaife was constantly looking to reward Harry Green for his good runs. The defence was well marshalled by Kit Baker and keeper Christian Lewin and rewarded with a clean sheet. Goals from Jack Scaife, Harry Green and Luca Warwick.

Final Score: AGC 5   Oldham Hulme 0

Y8 Football - In torrential rain the main message that came out of the game was that the College team thoroughly enjoyed themselves and defended bravely throughout despite heavy defeat. The opposition, with academy players, were a class above on the day and were 4 goals up within 10 minutes. The boys deserve credit for many goal saving clearances and tackles, plus an outstanding goalkeeping display from Matthew Williams. Sometimes you learn more about a team in defeat than when they are winning and this performance epitomised this phrase.

Final Score: AGC 0   Oldham Hulme 7
