ISA National Athletics Success with Gold Medal Win

The College took a group of determined athletes to Alexander Stadium Birmingham recently to compete in the ISA National Athletics competition.

The highlight was Keira Meadows who, under great pressure, ran the final leg for the Junior Girl’s to bring them home the Gold for the team by 5 metres.

Y8 pupil William Ashfield ran a strong race to finish ninth in 4:57 minutes in the Juniors Boys 1500 metres against many Y9 boys. Dan Pittard Wheeler sprinted to a fourth place in the 100 metres for Pre-Junior Boys in a highly competitive field.

Lexy Haslam also excelled in the discus to come a close third in the Intermediate girls’ event to reach the podium for a bronze medal. Jack Tomlins also leapt to 10.73 metre in Junior triple jump, only 12 centimetres off 1st place to win another bronze.

The College provided three runners for the ISA North relay teams with Dan Pittard Wheeler on the final leg as the North came fourth in Pre- Junior boys and Laura Mount a strong 3rd leg passing over the baton in second for the Intermediate girls.

Congratulations to all our elite athletes who represented the College on the day.
