Abbey Gate College hosts ISA North Under 14 Football

The tournament was hosted at the College for 7 other North ISA schools from York, Huddersfield and Manchester.

The 2 groups of four teams all played each other and the College won 2 games and lost only one with Luca Villlano providing the goal threat. As second in the group, the College were drawn against Huddersfield Grammar in the semi-final and just about edged the game territorially. The game changing moments were a missed penalty for the College and a Theo Bryant wonder save in the last minute.

With the final score 0-0 sudden death penalties decided the winners and unfortunately the College were first to miss and go out in the cruelest of ways.

An excellent afternoon of football for over 90 boys all playing in the correct spirit and enjoying every minute they played. Congratulations to Bridgewater who beat Huddersfield Grammar  2-1 in the final.
