The unbeaten Year 8 team with two Year 7 cricketers displayed growing confidence on a tricky surface in this away game. An enthralling and high scoring crash and bash game was played out on a breezy Cheshire evening. Upton batted first and their classy opener peppered the boundary before retiring in the third over 20 not out. The impetus of the innings slowed as the bowling and fielding improved. Upton won the toss and elected to bat on a sunny but breezy afternoon. Abbey Gate started well and David Mitchell only conceded one run in his first over. He passed the bat numerous times as his pace, which was enhanced by the wind, was too good for the Upton openers. On what became a very sunny but blustery afternoon, four full teams of Abbey Gate girls took a coach to Queen's Park High.
