Musical Memories receive a standing ovation

Members of the Senior School’s Musical Theatre Club delighted audiences earlier this month by hosting a Musical Memories evening to raise finds towards the College’s Chapel Choir trip to Poland next year.

The Club, which has members from Years 7 to the Upper Sixth, along with members of The Syncopators dance band, have been working hard since September on group numbers, solos and duets from a variety of musicals from the 1930’s to the present day including South Pacific, Chicago and Hairspray whilst also tackling tricky choreography to give the numbers some ‘razzle dazzle’!

The relaxed and informal atmosphere helped the audience to enjoy the show to highest level, with the company receiving a standing ovation after their final number.  We are extremely proud to have such talent within the College and one audience member being so impressed she claimed the company should “take the show on tour!”

A special mention must also go to James Kealey who accompanied the evening and Nick Bradley who was Musical Director, their hard work definitely paid off in this exciting event!
