Chapel Choir and Choral Scholars to delight Malpas audience

Scholars to perform in Malpas.

Two of Abbey Gate College's choral scholars, Olivia Hunt and Nicholas Bradley, will be featuring as the soloists in a forthcoming concert by Abbey Gate College Chapel Choir and members of the Chester Philharmonic and Wirral Symphony Orchestra at St Oswald's Malpas on Fri 23rd March at 7.30pm - admission £5.

The main work in the Concert will be Faure's Requiem but also Olivia will feature in Mendelssohn's 'Hear my Prayer' with its famous 'O for the wings of a Dove' section.  The choir will be conducted by the College's Director of Music Stewart Smith, who is also the organist and Choirmaster at St Oswald's where he has raised the standard of the music over the past year in the aim of making it a centre of 'musical excellence'.  To further this aim he is looking to recruit more experienced singers of all ages for the St Oswald's Choir and anyone interested can contact him at the Church on a Sunday or via the Abbey Gate College Chapel Choir website which details all forthcoming school musical events
