Sport & Physical Education

Physical Education is a popular part of our school curriculum with lessons being provided twice a week for our younger pupils and three times a week for Juniors.

All lessons are taught by specialist staff either on site at Aldford or at the Senior School.  Swimming takes place on a weekly basis at the City Baths in Chester.

The PE curriculum consists of building skills in football, rugby, cross country, hockey, gymnastics and netball in the Autumn and Spring terms and cricket, athletics and rounders in the Summer. During the year, we enter teams into competitions on both local and regional levels and also have a busy fixture list.

Extra curricular opportunities are varied with specialist coaching available in football, dance, skiing and ju-jitsu as well as training and development in football, netball, cricket and rounders. We also have a growing equestrian team.

Outdoor and Adventurous education is also a feature of our curriculum. We have an adventure trail in the school grounds which challenges pupils to develop skills of balance and dexterity, and each year pupils from Year 3 to Year 5 go to the Lake District for a residential adventure holiday. The children take part in activities such as abseiling, kayaking, climbing and archery.
